Mercury 290 OceanRunner RIB Inflatable Boat (2026)
New for 2026, and redesigned with EVA foram seat, additional handles, updated rubstrake and new Mercury logos.
The Mercury 290 Ocean Runner Hypalon (CSM) Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) is engineered for boaters who need more than a tender - it’s a true all-rounder. With its flat inner floor and integrated bow step/storage locker, the 290 Ocean Runner provides more usable space, comfort, and practicality than lightweight models. Heavier than the Dynamic series that is more suited to those requiring the lightest weight, the OceanRunner RIB is perfectly suited as a standalone runabout or as a dependable tender for larger yachts.
This OceanRunner series has been trusted in Australia for over 15 years by various sporting facilities, sailing clubs and select Navy cadet programs thanks to its rugged fibreglass deep-V hull, commercial-grade Hypalon tubes, and excellent load-carrying capacity. Offering seating for up to 4 adults, a maximum 420 kg payload, and compatibility with outboards up to 10 hp, the Ocean Runner 290 blends performance, durability, and functionality for both leisure and training environments.

Why Choose the Ocean Runner Hypalon?
The Mercury Ocean Runner series is designed for boaters who demand more. Unlike the lighter Dynamic series, which uses a single V-hull and open floor, the Ocean Runner features a flat inner deck with integrated bow storage, giving it more comfort, versatility, and durability. Its heavier construction makes it the preferred choice for serious applications - from yacht tenders to training craft. With Hypalon (CSM) tubes providing industry-leading protection against UV and wear, the 290 Ocean Runner is built to deliver years of reliable performance in demanding Australian conditions.
