Installation & Prop Nut Tightening
MotorGuide specifies the following installation method for Xi-series trolling motors:
- Install the propeller onto the shaft, engaging the propeller pin
- Fit the washer or anode (saltwater models)
- Thread the prop nut on and tighten securely using a 9/16 in. wrench or socket
- Once snug, tighten the prop nut an additional ¼ turn to fully secure the propeller
The nut must be tighened fully and securely to ensure the prop does not fall off when in use. Loctite may be added for extra security.
