Racing Gear Lube 85W-90 946 mL is a gearcase lubricant engineered for severe-duty outboard and sterndrive applications where extreme load, elevated temperatures, and sustained high RPM can quickly degrade standard gear oils.
Formulated for racing and high-output environments, it is recommended for use in all Mercury V10 outboards and also recommended for other performance gearcases that demand exceptional film strength, shear stability, and protection under shock loading.
This premium 85W-90 formulation uses advanced extreme-pressure additives and tackifiers to help the lubricant cling to gear teeth and bearings, reducing metal-to-metal contact during hard acceleration, high-speed operation, and rapid throttle changes. Enhanced thermal stability helps resist viscosity breakdown, maintaining consistent lubrication and helping preserve horsepower during extended high-load use.
An advanced water-handling additive system provides added protection in the event of water intrusion, helping maintain lubricity and corrosion resistance inside the gear housing.
